Ball mills and rod mills are both excellent mining machines for grinding ores into fine powders and particles. However there are some advantages to using rod mills rather than ball mills for larger mining projects including greater efficiency, better grinding performance and lower energy costs. Though ball mills are used more often rod mills can be the better option for specific mining ores and larger site projects.
In a ball mill the actual balls in the machine need to cascade in order for the grinding to be accomplished. Because of this more energy is needed to power up a ball press as opposed to a rod press. Rod mills can be operated at lower peripheral speeds resulting in reduced energy costs. Though this difference in power can vary depending on the type of ore you are grinding the consensus is that a rod machine requires less speed to perform the same function as a ball device. CNC or Computer Numerical Control machines have been in existence since the early 1970s. CNC machines replace or work in conjunction with some existing manufacturing process(es) and they are in widespread use the world over. The introduction of reasonably priced CNC machines dramatically changed the entire manufacturing industry as curves suddenly became as easy to cut as straight lines and complex 3-D structures were quite easy to make. CDC machines also drastically cut the number of human-assisted machining steps that were once required to be done many manufacturing applications. Read the rest of this entry »

The component manufacturing industries are one of the most important sectors in the country’s economy for the past couple of decades. The multiplier effect of the economic output of these industries acts as a catalyst to the economic stability of the country. Therefore these industries should take all the necessary steps to improve their efficiency by inducting the latest in automation technology in their component manufacturing lines. For instance, the Computer Numerically Controlled or CNC machines as they are popularly known as are widely used in many industries to make components that may be used in the final assembly process.
