Manufacturing processes across industries has undergone a sea change thanks to the advent of sophisticated technologies like Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM). CAM is a system which uses computer technology to assist in the manufacturing of products.
Using CAM industries have become highly automated. Modern day concepts like robotics being used in manufacturing process owe their origin to CAM. CAM enables a high degree of precision to be achieved, which is humanly impossible.
Certain sophisticated CAM systems can keep track of even the materials and automate the entire ordering process, apart from aiding such tasks as tool replacement. CAM is generally linked to CAD systems. The integrated system usually takes the computer generated design and feeds it into the manufacturing process. The entire system works under a multiple computer controlled environment, with specific computers being assigned for specific jobs for instance, like milling or drilling. Read the rest of this entry »

There are three main elements to every dental implant – the implant itself, the dental abutment and the dental prosthesis. Of all of these three components the abutment is the most important. In the past dentists have become frustrated with the abutment and the lack of choice available but new CAD-CAM procedures are making it easier for dentists to build a dental abutment which is customized to each of their patients. Read on to find out more about how CAD-CAM dental abutments are improving the dental implant procedure. Read the rest of this entry »

The Cad Cam machinery is based on CAD and CAM, the short of Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided Manufacturing respectively. As the term means, it simply means that the computer remote machines that can be used for the designing and the controlling of manufacturing processes purposes. The CAD and CAM machinery has its own value, it is so heavy and well equipped that it is used for the engineering and architectural purposes for drawing and sketching a really form of image making it more compatible for the technical usage. This can be explained easily that once the design is made by the CAD component, the design itself will control the machines involved in constructing that part, on the format. You might hear the term CAD/CAM from time to time. It is basically a merging of the two pieces. A software manufacturer tries to pick up more marketshare by doing this. They also keep you locking into their “system” by going with the whole package at once. Cad Cam
